DESCRIPTION:Sucheta Kamath\, Founder and CEO\, ExQ®\, is honored to have been invited to speak at the 2021 Morris County Speech and Hearing Association Annual Conference.  Sucheta’s talk is entitled: Build a Better Future Self: Applying Executive Function Principles to Enhance Self-Management in Children and Adults. \nThe frontal lobes are tasked with future-forecasting; an ability to formulate goals\, predict outcomes\, and reshape decisions based on personal intentions\, past scenarios\, ongoing experiences\, and social contexts. By looking back\, we begin to shape how we look ahead. Connecting with the needs of the future-self requires self-awareness and those with cultivated self-efficacy are highly efficient and independent individuals and self-regulated strategizers.  \nThis session will present effective and evidence-based strategies to help build executive function and emotional regulation in children and adults with cognitive-communication disorders in a variety of contexts. Participants will discover effective practices designed to enhance clients’ internal and external self-awareness and ways to connect with their future-selves in order to exert greater influence on their multifaced lives.
