We’ve got a GREAT line-up of guest speakers\, including: \nAndrew Young:\nICM is honored to have Andrew Young\, one of Atlanta’s heroes\, engage the youth of the ICM Youth Social Justice Academy in a heartfelt conversation about what it takes to be an activist. Mr. Young began his career as a pastor and became an early leader in the civil rights movement. He was a close confidant to Martin Luther King Jr. and was executive director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). Later he became active in politics\, serving as a U.S. Congressman from Georgia\, United States Ambassador to the United Nations in the Carter Administration\, and 55th Mayor of Atlanta. The youth are excited to exchange thoughts and ideas with such an icon as Andrew Young. \nRabbi Lydia Medwin:\nRabbi Lydia Medwin is the assistant rabbi at The Temple. She was ordained just 11 years ago\, and she’s already made an impact on the world. At The Temple\, Rabbi Medwin leads the Rothschild Social Justice Institute. Her job is to involve The Temple’s 1500 families in raising their voices for justice in our society. Rabbi Medwin loves to make sure the Jewish youth work actively with adults in these justice projects. Her vibrant spirit and great sense of humor will ensure an active back and forth conversation with her youthful conversation partners. \nSucheta Kamath:\nSucheta Kamath immigrated to Atlanta from India as a young adult. In college\, she got interested in what it takes to be a good learner. Now she’s a well-known speech–language pathologist.
