Description: Students taking responsibility for their own learning requires them to have strong Executive Function skills including self-awareness, critical thinking, and self-directed problem solving. In this session, we will collaboratively map out the best ways to include the teaching of Executive Function curriculum as a core competency to all children by designing a personalized learning plan that helps connect students with their future-selves. Lastly, we will present the opportunities and barriers to creating policies that allow for multiple pathways to incorporating Executive Function curriculum, including the practical needs for earning credits, grades, professional development and requirements for graduation so that all students can achieve their own self-directed learning goals.
