Advocate for
Educators, we are
calling on YOU…
to help us engage decision-makers at the school, district and state levels to inform and educate about the value and impact of teaching Executive Function. With our Executive Function advocacy toolkit, we can help educators share how and why explicitly teaching Executive Function leads to more resilient learners and better student outcomes. Following are helpful tools to use when navigating discussions or advocating with families, teachers, administrators, district leaders, school boards, state lawmakers and even federal policymakers.

Host an Executive
Function Day
In Georgia, we’ve be been successful engaging state lawmakers to learn about the science of Executive Function and garnered bi-partisan support for an official Executive Function Resolution and recognized day at the Georgia Capitol. Hosting an Executive Function day is a great way to educate stakeholders about the science and raise awareness about the urgent need to teach our students the Executive Function skills they need to be prepared as independent, resilient learners ready to succeed in school, college, careers, and life.
Learn about the Legislative Process
Understanding the logistics of legislative advocacy can be vital to share information at the most effective times. In addition to participating in your state educational association advocacy events, educators can always initiate contact with lawmakers as private citizens to share information about Executive Function.
You may want to access your specific state to note when your general assembly is in session and the specific bill-to-law process.
