Join CEO and Founder of ExQ, Sucheta Kamath as she speaks at the 2nd National Multi-faith Conference: Ending Mass Incarceration The topic of her presentation is Unlocking Re-entry Success with Executive Function Training.
A key ingredient to leading a productive life is strong Executive Function, which refers to a set of skills essential to appropriately adjust one’s thoughts, emotions, and actions to achieve self-set goals in the midst of uncertainty or chaos. The disenfranchisement caused by mass incarceration not only excludes individuals from society and severs meaning and purpose from their lives, but the prolonged condition of incarceration leaves negative neuropsychological imprint including poor mental health outcomes, loss of autonomy, and reduced self-regulation. This presentation will discuss ways to include executive function training into a post-incarceration care plan to help individuals gain personal agency, interpersonal intimacy, and overall professional or social success.
We’d love to spend some time with you at the Conference, share a cup of coffee to discuss how Georgia’s educational leaders are partnering with ExQ to implement Executive Function curriculum around the country, and explore ways to bring ExQ’s innovative curriculum to your school, district or practice to help build the Executive Function skills needed to succeed in school and in life!
