2021 GSHA Honors of the Association Award – given by the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association (GSHA) during the annual conference in 2021 in recognition of longstanding involvement in GSHA and lifetime professional achievement in the field of communication sciences and disorders.
2019 GSHA President’s Gavel Award – given by the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association (GSHA) during the annual conference in 2019 in recognition of outstanding service to GSHA.
Award of Clinical Excellence (ACE) – granted by American Speech & Hearing Association (ASHA) in 2022, 2020, 2019, 2016, 2013, 2002, 2000, 1999, 1997 and 1996. It is a formal recognition of professionals who have demonstrated their commitment to lifelong learning by earning 7.0 ASHA continuing education units (CEUs), the equivalent of 70 contact hours, within a 36-month period.
Hardin Community Partner Award – given by Georgia Works! in 2018. - Administered diagnostic procedures and treatment to adolescents and adults with higher level of cognitive/linguistic, reading and writing deficits resulting from varying diagnoses of brain injury such as MVA, fall, tumors, aneurysms, right/left CVA, seizure disorders, etc.
- Developed original creative material for treatment of students and adult patients with cognitive impairments leading to functional deficits
- Provide ongoing in-services to hospital professional staff and community members regarding management of cognitive impairments as a result of mild brain injury
- Developed clinical/educational Neuro-Rounds (bi-monthly) by collaborating with Psychiatry and Neurology Departments
- Frequently invited as a speaker at the Aneurysm Support Group Meeting and Tumor Support Group Meeting about attention, memory, and Executive Functions problems
